Table lamp in a beautiful green glaze from Bartholdy Ceramics, 1960s–70s, Denmark. It is 20 cm tall (26 cm including the socket) and has a diameter of 13 cm; it weighs approx. 1, 160 grams. The glaze is incredibly beautiful. The lamp was designed by the ceramicist Benny Bartholdy Pedersen, who founded his own workshop in 1963 after completing an apprenticeship at Eslau and working as a journeyman at Palshus. His lamps and jars from the 1970s are particularly renowned for this type of rustic, brutalist style, in which glossy glazes are combined with raw, textured and earth-coloured bands. A bulb is included with the purchase (fits a standard E26/E27 socket). Packed securely and dispatched with insurance.
