Verdure Tapestry with Fox, based on the tapestry Fox and Pheasants, the first tapestry created by John Dearle, the head of textile creations at Morris & Co, at the end of the 19th century. In the tradition of medieval Millefleurs tapestries, this edition dates from the mid-20th century. The tapestry depicts a fox hunting amidst bushes and flowers, in russet tones against a green and blue background. Adorned with a frieze of contrasting leaves and flowers. In very good condition, heavy and of high quality. Cotton backing. On the back, a hem for a rod, and rings. Dimensions: L200cm, H125cm.
