Ceramic wall relief Helmut Schäffenacker 1960s

This square ceramic wall relief by the German artist Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker was made in the 1960s. The composition brings together raised circular shapes, geometric lines, and small figurative details into a distinctly sculptural whole. The dark, almost black background forms a beautiful contrast with the brown, ochre, and cream tones. Various glazes and rough textures give the surface depth. Due to the relief and the play of light, different details emerge. The work is signed at the bottom right. On the back are the original studio marking and an impressed model number. The metal hanging wire is also preserved. The wall relief is in very good condition, with no cracks or broken ceramic pieces. We have carefully cleaned it and it can be hung directly on the wall.
