Rare wall-mounted coat rack attributed to Mathieu Matégot, a major figure in post-war French design. This emblematic piece combines a black lacquered tubular metal structure with perforated sheet metal elements, characteristic of the famous Rigitulle process developed by the designer in the 1950s. Its graphic design features a perforated metal hat shelf, two triangular panels lacquered in red and green, and six spherical hooks in red, green, and gold. The whole offers a light and sculptural silhouette, typical of French modernism. The coat rack is in very good condition, with a slight patina of use consistent with its age. A decorative as well as functional piece, ideal for an entrance, an office, or a Mid-Century interior.
