Beautiful decorative wall hanging reproducing the original from the 16th century preserved at the Louvre: "Hopscotch and Fruit Gathering", from the Tapestry of the Noble Pastoral. Produced by Artis Flora Workshops, a renowned French publisher in the 20th century, specialising in the reproduction of medieval and Renaissance tapestries. Reproduction technique by Artis Flora, on a wool/linen/cotton texture. Lined with jute, with sewn fixing tabs. Dimensions: 92 cm high X 146 cm wide. Condition: very good overall condition. This tapestry is part of a series of three pieces, The Tapestry of the Noble Pastoral, depicting young lords and noble ladies playing shepherds — a genre very popular at the end of the Middle Ages. In this panel: five characters hold shepherd's crooks; on the right, a man gathers fruits that a woman receives in the folds of her dress; on the left, a peasant brings his lord the hopscotch game. Blue background with flowers, birds, sheep, and dogs, featuring the arms of Bohier and Bohier-Briçonnet.
