Louis XVI style flat desk in cherry wood, green leather top - French work

Elegant flat desk in Louis XVI style, made of cherry wood with a beautiful warm patina, crafted by a French workshop in the 20th century in the great tradition of classic cabinetmaking. Its top is covered with deep green genuine leather, highlighted by a golden fillet that adds character to the piece. The frieze opens with five drawers, including a central drawer that locks (original key preserved). The tapered and fluted legs, finished with brass sabot feet, as well as the chiselled bronze (rose-shaped handles and palmette lock entries) confirm the care taken in its manufacture. A family piece, rich in history, in very good condition. The leather shows some light signs of use that testify to its life without detracting from its charm.
