The sliding glass doors with ribbed glass allow light to pass through while subtly diffusing the contents, giving the piece an elegant and discreet presence. The construction combines traditional wood and plywood, using robust and functional techniques characteristic of mid-20th century Japan. The dark and uniform patina of the wood enhances its understated and timeless character, placing the piece at the intersection of Japanese tradition and a distinctly mid-century aesthetic. A particularly versatile display cabinet, ideal for contemporary, wabi-sabi interiors or for contract and professional design projects. During the Shōwa period, Japanese furniture gradually incorporated industrial materials such as ribbed glass, while maintaining a functional and measured approach to design. The display cabinets of this era reflect the evolution of domestic lifestyles, where display, order, and spatial readability became increasingly important. It is in excellent condition, except for the typical imperfections of any antique, due to the passage of time. UNIQUE PIECE.
