Farm table with turned legs in oak (renovated)

Large farmhouse table in oak dating from the late 19th century. With its elegant turned legs, moulded apron, and long top of over two metres, it offers a particularly refined version of the traditional country table. Materials: the table is made of solid oak. The wood has a beautiful warm hue and pronounced grain, marked by the traces and irregularities acquired over time. Features: the base of this table is distinguished by four turned legs joined in pairs by low stretchers, while the apron and the edge of the top are highlighted with mouldings. A drawer is integrated at the front. Measuring over two metres in length, the table comfortably accommodates 8 people. Its contained depth gives it particularly elegant proportions and allows it to be easily integrated despite its great length. Renovation: the top was covered with a second tiled surface, which has been removed to reveal the original solid oak top. The top has also undergone a graft along its entire length to fill in missing areas. The table has been fully sanded and then protected with a clear matte varnish. Condition: the table is robust and stable on its legs. It bears the marks of its previous life, particularly on its top and corners, all visible in the photos. Dimensions: L206 x D69.5 x H76. A large antique country table that combines the rustic character of oak with a base that is much more elaborate than that of traditional farmhouse tables. A character piece, ideal as a large dining table or kitchen table.
