A glass jug designed by Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz at the Krakow Glass Institute, made in Poland in the 1970s. Made of transparent glass in a pastel turquoise shade, it stands out with its slender, balanced form: a bulbous base, narrow neck, and flared mouth. The handle, also made of transparent glass, takes on an organic, slightly curved shape, emphasizing the fluidity of the silhouette. The visible joint between the handle and the body highlights the artisanal, unique production process typical of artistic glass studios of the time. The lack of additional decorations or colours reflects the minimalist spirit of Polish functionalism of the 1970s. The jug is in good condition, with a small glass chip ('flake') at the base of the handle, which does not affect the structural integrity. This jug tells the story of the modernist sensibility of the era, where the aesthetics of simplicity met the authenticity of handmade craftsmanship. The subdued colour of the glass evokes the breath of a summer morning on the Vistula, and the subtly curved lines suggest fluidity and freedom of experimentation. The combination of form restraint and detail delicacy echoes the voice of the 1970s: a time open to new materials, yet still rooted in respect for craftsmanship. Noticeable minor signs of use seem not to diminish but discreetly emphasize the object's history. The jug can be used as a decorative accent in a mid-century modern living room or in bright, minimalist collector's spaces. It pairs well with natural wood, matte ceramics, and cool-toned metals. It can be displayed alone on a console as a soloist or combined with several other glass forms from the 1970s to highlight the dialogue of textures and glass shades. It works both as a vase for a single branch and as a casual artistic object in a composition with graphic art or textiles from the era.
