Oil painting on canvas Cubist Still Life 1950s Huberger

"The mission of art is not to copy nature, but to express it!" - Honoré de Balzac. This large oil painting on canvas is inspired, stroke for stroke, by the beautiful canvas "Still Life" by Croatian painter Tugomir Huberger and tells something very gentle despite the vigour of its style. Cubist composition in the spirit of the still lifes of Picasso and Braque. Period frame, dressed in natural linen. Some signs of humidity that simply testify to the passage of time. Mark or signature at the bottom right is not legible. 89 X 29 cm for the canvas, 104 X 44 cm for the frame. 5 cm thick. Visible in Colmar, delivery possible upon request.
