This superb broc is stamped in the name of the famous sarreguemines earthenware factory under u and co. (for utzschneider and company) and is part of the regina collection. It can be found in the factory catalogue between 1900 and 1925. It is made of masonry, a fine earthenware covered with coloured glazes that appears around 1870. Its bronze green monochrome décor is remarkable for its finesse. The floral patterns printed by transfer are precise, careful. The vegetable filling is rich and the attention to detail is admirable. These are foliage and artichoke blossom. We love its shape with its well-bandaged body. It offers a superb rendering with fresh or dried flowers. Beneath the base is engraved the number 228. This represents the designation of the dough. It is an ivory-coloured paste. You can also see the letter k. This is called the shaping letter and refers to the painter or worker who shaped the décor. It's in perfect condition. This is remarkable for his age.
