Very beautiful oil painting on canvas depicting apples and a faience compote dish. It is signed at the bottom right "Léon Frank" and probably dates from the 1930s. The apples are large and their colour is enticing; the compote dish recalls a kitchen item that was widely used in the early 20th century to serve cakes, fruits, and compote. On the back of the painting, there is a label from a former exhibition in the city of Antwerp, Belgium.
