Space age coffee table 1970s

Born in the golden age of bold Parisian interiors, this sculptural space age coffee table embodies the assertive architectural language of French design from the 1970s, a period when furniture crossed the boundary between function and artwork. Originating from a luxurious private apartment located on Avenue Foch, one of the most iconic and prestigious addresses in Paris, this piece carries a true cultural dimension. Its monolithic silhouette with organic lines is both powerful and fluid. Made from thick moulded resin, its generous structure is enhanced by a glossy ivory lacquer finish that captures light and subtly reveals the curves. Four wide side openings visually lighten the mass while creating a sophisticated play of shadows and perspectives, a hallmark of late European modernism. The original moulded insert accommodates a round glass top 1 cm thick. Dimensions: 96 cm × 96 cm × 36 cm. In very good vintage condition, with slight signs of use consistent with the age and history of the piece. Prestigious provenance: Avenue Foch, Paris.
