An oil landscape from the 1930s by the swedish painter hjalmar lundström (1879-1963). Handwritten by the author in the lower part of the painting and described on the reverse. Oil painting on canvas. Framed. Hjalmar lundström, born 3 april 1879 in villie, malmöhus county, died 3 november 1963 in malmö[1], was a swedish painter. He was the son of the blacksmith petter lundström and hanna andersson. Lundström studied at several technical evening schools in stockholm, malmö and lund as well as at skånska malarskolan in malmö and during study trips to italy. He exhibited separately at malmö town hall in 1929 and subsequently exhibited separately in several places in the country. Together with gunnar ekdahl, he exhibited at the town hall in kristianstad, and together with brita af klercker, willy lindeberg and helge högbom, he held a new year's salon at the läroverket in helsingborg in 1945. He participated in most of the skåne art association's exhibitions since 1920 and with sweden's general art association. His art consists of landscapes with scanian villages and plain motifs as well as from blekinge and southern europe, usually done in oil, pastel or watercolour. Lundström is represented at trelleborg's museum.
