Overview. First-class Art Deco wardrobe from France, circa 1930. High-gloss black piano lacquer finish on the exterior with a warm mahogany frame. Design. Vertical, symmetrical composition typical of the 1930s Art Deco period. Central recessed full-height mirror with faceted cut, flanked by glossy black panels and chrome vertical trim. Materials. Mahogany case and structural elements with lacquered front panels. Mirror glass and chrome-plated metal fittings provide metallic accents. Interior. Interior finished in satin-polished mahogany. Central door veneered and lacquered inside with satinwood and mahogany ray motif. Left side: adjustable shelves on rails. Right side: pull-out metal strip fitted with hooks for coat hangers. Two original chrome-plated bar locks fitted inside the outer doors. Construction. The wardrobe can be dismantled into 14 individual parts using screws, facilitating transport and installation.
