Antique Louis-Philippe glass-fronted cabinet in mahogany
Antique glass-fronted cabinet from the Louis-Philippe period, featuring a curved central glass door and two drawers at the bottom, enhanced by a sculpted pediment. Covered in deep and warm flame mahogany veneer, it has solid oak interior backs and offers multiple storage shelves. Its narrow format and beautiful presence make it a choice piece for showcasing fine china in a dining room or a collection of books in an office. Condition: The piece is sound, perfectly stable and functional, having undergone careful restoration by a cabinetmaker (the drawers slide easily and the door closes properly). The veneer and varnish exhibit a lovely patina of use, accompanied by a few superficial micro-scratches and very discreet signs of age visible in the photos. These slight marks of time attest to its authenticity without detracting from its remarkable elegance.
