Pair of vintage rattan and bamboo armchairs

Pair of Japanese-inspired bamboo and rattan armchairs. I fell admiring the work done by hand, each piece was hand-carved and inserted in notches (no glue, just a few spikes on the edge of the seat). The chairs are in their juice and although they remain stable and very solid, pieces of bamboo are missing. It is quite harmonious because the symmetry of the drawing is respected, however, the notches are apparent. The bamboo blade seat was varnished; time will have peeled off some of the varnish. The chairs have been waxed. Seat height 49 cm. Beautiful shades in shades that looks like tortoiseshell.
