Beautiful old turned stoneware jar, probably French, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Its ovoid shape, two large handles, and irregular glaze in honey, brown, and grey tones give it a lot of character. The surface shows beautiful turning marks, variations in firing, and signs of use, typical of an old handmade piece. Possibly a regional stoneware from Puisaye, without formal attribution due to the absence of a signature or mark. Dimensions: Height: 30 cm. Base diameter: 14.5 cm. Width with handles: 22 cm. Generally in good antique condition, with wear, glaze irregularities, and visible signs of age as shown in the photos. A very beautiful decorative piece for a rustic, wabi-sabi, Mediterranean, or chic country interior.
