Saint-Clément & K&G plate – rooster on basket decoration, circa 1920

An antique plate full of character, from a period when the Saint-Clément and Lunéville (Keller & Guérin) factories worked in synergy. The mixed K&G / St Clément stamp indicates production between the 1920s and 1930s, reflecting high-quality Lorraine know-how. Its decoration of a rooster perched on a flowered basket, painted in delicate shades of pink and green, is a classic of popular tableware - but here offered in a rarer version with a smooth edge, which subtly modernizes the silhouette of the plate enhanced by slightly raised patterns! Good condition, one hairline crack and two chips on the edge. Very shiny. Diameter: 22.5 cm. Display alone or in a mix & match wall decoration with other animal or floral earthenware.
