This superb table cutlery is in silver metal from the christofle goldsmith house. This art deco model was designed by luc lanel and is called "saïgon". This cutlery consists of a fork and a spoon. Dating from the beginning of the 20th century, it is marked "alfenide 84" and bears the hallmark of the christofle rider. Created in 1850, the alfenide alloy tends to imitate silver and gold. The “alfénide” factory was bought by christofle in 1880. The alfénide veneer guarantee mark is a guarantee of quality. The silvering of christofle cutlery is of very good quality and resists very well over time! The christofle goldsmith house was founded in 1830 by charles christofle. This goldsmith has had an undeniable role in the evolution of lifestyle and tableware since the 19th century. The christofle house, on the strength of these prestigious commissions, has maintained its excellence, following trends in the decorative arts and through the development of new techniques. The elegant and refined models were appreciated by louis-philippe, napoleon iii, numerous heads of state and crowned heads throughout europe for equipping palaces, liners, trains and planes. In good condition, this cutlery measures 20.5 cm and 21 cm and shows scratches from use and wear.
