A striking set of six vintage dining chairs attributed to Louis van Teeffelen for AWA, with the kind of sculptural clarity that makes Dutch mid-century design feel both warm and architectural. Van Teeffelen is best known for his refined postwar furniture designs and for his work for Walraven & Bevers / Wébé, but examples carrying the AWA association are also firmly part of the vintage market around his name and remain especially sought after by collectors of Dutch modern seating. What makes this set so appealing is the balance between softness and line. The frames have a beautifully tapered, almost floating silhouette, while the wide, gently shaped backrest gives the design its recognisable graphic character. All six chairs have been reupholstered in black skai, which sharpens the look and gives the set a cleaner, more architectural presence than fabric upholstery would. The contrast between the dark seats and the warm wood tones works especially well in mid-century, brutalist, and more minimal contemporary interiors. Details. Set: 6 dining chairs.
