Isn't this glazing wonderful. For me, this glazing in speckled tones of black, milky grey, and touches of chocolate is undoubtedly the most successful and interesting of those offered by the Atch workshop. I imagine they are mugs, but they could also serve as vases or simply complement a collection of ceramics. They have a simple and elegant shape, with slight ribbed reliefs at the top. They are the work of Chantal and Thierry Robert, who worked in their workshop "Les grès du Loir" in Poncé sur Loire from 1973. It is a very beautiful artisanal work, both for the turning and the glazing. Their signature or monogram has evolved over time, ultimately signing Atch with a stamp (for Atelier de Thierry et Chantal). On these ceramics, the signature is still done by hand but already includes the A of Atch (atelier) alongside the C of Chantal and the T of Thierry, with the h common to both names. They probably date from the second half of the 1970s. One is in perfect condition, while the second has a relatively significant chip (1cm) on the rim, but it is not excessively visible as the colour of the clay used is brown and blends into the colour of the glazing. Therefore, it is priced much lower than it would be if it were intact. These mugs measure 13 cm in height and 8.5 cm in maximum diameter. I am also offering another similar and intact Atch mug here, but with slightly smaller dimensions. If you would like two intact mugs, I can create a new lot; for that, please contact me via messaging.
