Beautiful and majestic pair of english chairs from the first half of the twentieth century. These chairs, in solid mahogany, are inspired by the neoclassical style of the eighteenth-century english cabinetmaker, thomas sheraton. There are tapered front feet and sabre rear feet. The backrest is in three parts, with richly carved motifs in the center, including here, the three feathers, emblem of the prince of wales. The sculptural work of the backrest is truly remarkable. The wooden structure is in very good condition, with traces of life, some discreet repairs and a beautiful patina. Note, the wood has worked somewhat on the back of one of the chairs (visible on the photos). It is only aesthetic and does not affect the strength of the chair. The seat, which is removable, was completely redone about ten years ago, but we still changed the fabric for this one, sporting golden flowers on a blue background, for a touch that is both british and modern. These large chairs (more than 1 meter high), would be perfect at the ends of a large table. Size: Height: 105 cm. Seat height: 46 cm. Width: 49 cm. Seat width: 44 cm. Depth: 52 cm. Seated pronfondeur: 37 cm. Weight: 5.8 kg each. Delivery possible in france and worldwide, contact me beforehand for a personalized quote.
