Extraordinary and extremely rare bronze fireplace screen, dating from the 19th century (around 1880), signed bouhon frères. Until 1898, the bouhon frères house specialized in bronze fireplaces and accessories. Rewarded at the paris universal exhibition in 1900 by the international jury for their screens and andirons, thomas and joseph bouhon received the gold medal. Their pieces are now rare and highly sought after by collectors! This firewall consists of a main shutter and two folding shutters. It is chiselled with shells, intertwined hearts, foliage scrolls in a louis XVI style. It was deliberately left in its original state, with its numerous traces of use and signs of age which testify to its age and its authenticity: mesh holed and damaged by ashes, several nuts are missing on the back of the firewall, patina on bronze. It can be restored by a professional or left as is, with its marks from the past! He must have witnessed long evenings by the fire, so it's your turn to make him experience lovely memories! Total dimensions: 140 cm long / 74 cm high. Dimensions of the fully folded firewall: 67 cm long / 74 cm high. Total weight excluding packaging: 9 kg. It is an old object, it contains traces of time and imperfections which make it a unique object with a story! Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!.
