Art Deco vase by Pierre d'Avesn, ribbed amber glass, 1930s

Large pressed-moulded glass vase in green/yellow, with a scalloped rim. It seems there are two sizes for this vase, 17 and 22 cm. This is the larger model at 22 cm, which is much harder to find. It is signed in relief under the rim 'P. D'Avesn — Made in France'. Pierre d'Avesn (Pierre Girre, 1901-1990), trained at Lalique and then artistic director of moulded glass at Daum, is one of the great names of French Art Deco glass. Dimensions: height 22 cm, diameter at the neck 17.5 cm, diameter at the base 10.5 cm. Condition: perfect condition except for a small chip at the base (3 mm). A collectible piece to display alone or with a bouquet, perfect in an Art Deco or eclectic interior.
