Original 1931 French landscape oil painting by M. Alba

Bring timeless European charm into your home with this beautiful original oil painting on canvas, signed M. Alba and dated 1931. This captivating landscape depicts a peaceful village nestled among majestic trees beneath dramatic cloud-filled skies. Executed with confident brushwork and a refined understanding of light, colour and composition, the painting reflects the influence of the French Post-Impressionist tradition while maintaining its own distinctive artistic personality. An especially appealing feature of this artwork is that the reverse of the canvas retains the artist's original handwritten inscription, including the French title "Paysage après la pluie" (Landscape After the Rain), together with the artist's name, M. Alba. These original period inscriptions add historical interest and enhance the painting's provenance and authenticity as an early twentieth-century work.
