In this advertisement, you will find a vintage Afghan Baluch rug that is almost antique, handwoven, fine, and soft. The geometric patterns and angular shapes are typical of rugs woven by nomadic and village communities in the tribal areas of Afghanistan. The rug features a distinct central motif made up of several repetitive geometric patterns throughout its length. This straight tribal style is characteristic of nomadic weavings, unlike the more ornate and curvilinear designs of urban Persian workshop rugs. The dominant colours are rich and warm, including shades of orange, red, brown, and ivory, with accents of dark blue, in line with natural dyes. The rug bears the year of weaving inscribed according to the Islamic calendar, 1353, equivalent to 1934 in the Gregorian calendar. For any further questions, please feel free to contact the seller.
