Designed in the 1960s by Martin Visser for the Dutch publisher Spectrum, this coffee table perfectly illustrates the rigour and elegance of post-war Dutch design. True to the designer's modernist approach, the piece combines simplicity of lines, quality of materials, and precision of assembly. The square smoked glass top rests on a minimalist structure made up of four solid wooden legs, connected by tubular chrome steel bars. The visible circular metal fixings on the uprights highlight the technical character of the construction and add a graphic detail typical of Spectrum furniture from this period. The contrast between the warmth of the wood, the shine of the steel, and the transparency of the smoked glass gives the whole a sculptural presence while maintaining a great visual lightness. With its balanced proportions — 88 cm wide and 37 cm high — this coffee table easily fits into a contemporary interior as well as a vintage design collection. In very good vintage condition. The smoked glass is well preserved, the structure is stable and elegant, showing a slight patina of time that adds to the charm of the piece.
