Modernist Totem Floor Lamp Maison Arlus, France circa 1950

Very beautiful floor lamp called "Totem" from the famous French lighting house Arlus around 1950. Typical of the modernist and minimalist style of that era, its tuning fork structure is made of satin black metal set on a perforated base of 25 cm in diameter, supporting a large cylindrical lampshade made of textured fibreglass, measuring 25 cm in diameter and 60 cm in height. The floor lamp has a total height of 160 cm. The black electrical cord with a Bakelite olive switch measures 160 cm from the ground. In superb used condition with a lampshade free of stains or tears (a few black spots on the upper rim, without aesthetic impact, see photo), this stunningly minimalist light fixture will add a vintage design touch to your living room or bedroom.
