Pernilla armchair. Steam-curved birch and beech wood frame in the style of alvar aalto's furniture. The seat is made of crossed canvas straps. The straps are original black, which is very rare. This armchair is a vintage edition from the 1970s-80s, it is in very good condition. The frame bears the manufacturer's mark "dux". The headrest has been re-made in black suede following the original model. Comes with new sheepskin if desired. In 1944, mathsson created the first armchair in what would later be called the pernilla chair line. The first chairs were produced by karl mathsson ab in värnamo, sweden, the father of bruno mathsson. By the 1950s, mathsson had moved away from furniture and focused on architecture. However, in the 1960s, he returned to furniture by collaborating with the swedish manufacturer dux, who wanted to re-release the pernilla range. Seat height approximately 35-27cm.
