American desk lamp 1940

Beautiful and rare banker’s desk lamp from the 1930s-40s, originating from the USA. Made of cast iron, its finish is a hammered grey-brown. The sculpted base with fluting rests on a multi-level rectangular base. The semi-cylindrical shade features two small push-button switches. One or two neon lights could be turned on to vary the intensity. It does not work as it is; the American 118v ballast will need to be replaced with a European 230v ballast, as well as the neon tubes suitable for the power. The lamp remains a very beautiful decorative object, typical of American design from the 1940s. Dimensions: total height 37cm, shade: length 47cm, depth 13cm, base: length 23cm, depth 13cm.
