Magnificent bottle vase (or large soliflore) in traditional glazed earthenware from the famous artisan city of Talavera de la Reina in Spain. This vintage piece, dating from the mid-20th century, is entirely hand-painted. It features the iconic and highly sought-after motif of a stylised bird with outstretched wings on its bulging body. The elongated neck is adorned with geometric and floral patterns in vibrant and typical colours: cobalt blue, ochre, saffron yellow, and copper green on a glossy white background. The object is handwritten signed "Talavera" under its base, accompanied by the workshop's monogram. It is worth noting that the craftsmanship of Talavera ceramics is inscribed in UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. A very beautiful character piece, ideal for bohemian, ethnic decoration or to complement a collection of majolica and Mediterranean earthenware. Rustic / Bohemian / Mediterranean style. Mid-20th century (1950s - 1970s). Very good condition.
