Sculpted wooden and wrought iron brutalist double chandelier from the 1960s.

Raw and singular, this two-candle candelabrum reflects the spirit of an era when craftsmanship embraced its traces and imperfections. A round base made of solid wood, hand-carved, features an oval element in the centre, also made of wood, whose visible tool marks give the piece its endearing raw character. On either side, two chains of large links in blackened wrought iron descend gracefully to support a carved wooden bobeche each. The whole is dark, dense, almost solemn, yet exhibits a beautiful sobriety in its round and organic shapes. It is a character piece, likely made in the 1960s-1970s in the spirit of the brutalist movement, which will fit perfectly in an interior that appreciates authentic materials, dark wood, and antique metal. The candlestick is vintage and dates from the 1970s. It is in good condition. The wood is beautifully shaped and polished.
