Pine stool designed by René Martin, nicknamed "René the Scissors." A renowned cabinetmaker, he collaborated with Charlotte Perriand on her ski resort development projects in Les Arcs and also in Méribel, in the French Alps. The four-legged base with log legs accommodates a thick circular seat, all in solid pine. A clean and functional design that demonstrates René Martin's refined craftsmanship and mid-century modern aesthetic. Provenance: Méribel, circa 1965.
