Luxurious, hypnotic, and extremely rare, this trio of nesting tables in tortoiseshell-coloured plexiglass is one of the hardest pieces to find in French furniture from the 1970s. Finding a single table in this shade is already a stroke of luck. Finding three, matching, nesting tables is exceptional! Each table is made from a single sheet of thick thermoformed plexiglass, curved into a continuous U shape with no visible joints. The tortoiseshell effect showcases extraordinary depths of colour, ranging from warm brown to amber, with orange reflections that literally ignite under natural light. Each table features a unique pattern; no two are alike. Stacked, they form a sculptural composition. Spread out in a living room, they capture light from every angle and transform the space. Tortoiseshell plexiglass is the most precious and sought-after colour in French furniture from the 1970s, produced in quantities far lower than smoked or clear versions. Date: c. 1970. Place of production: France 🇫🇷 Colour: Tortoiseshell. Materials: Thermoformed plexiglass. Quantity: 3 tables. Dimensions of the large table: 52 X 40 X 37 cm. There are visible scratches due to age, as well as a notch on the top of the smallest table. However, they remain sturdy and without cracks or breaks.
