Portrait of a Beninese man in a traditional Fulani hat by Pierre Matossy (1891-1969). Gouache and watercolour on paper mounted on isorel. A three-quarter view of a man with a very expressive gaze. The work is signed and dated July 1952 in the bottom right corner, Upper Dahomey. It was created in Benin, historically known as Dahomey. In very good condition, the work is under glass.
