Set of 12 small silver-plated mocha or coffee spoons. Designed by Luc Lanel, this model is typically Art Deco with its cut edges, stepped moldings, and drawn corners. This model was created in 1933 for Christofle. The Alfenide pattern (inscribed in the metal) is a symbol of the Alfenide family. Alfenide is an alloy developed in 1850 by the Halphen brothers, French chemists and goldsmiths. The Alfenide factory was acquired by Christofle in 1880. A goldsmith's trademark was registered in 1908, bearing the Alfenide silver seal. This stamp depicts a goat's head engraved with a diamond within a square, similar to the diamond-shaped seal of the widow Charles Halphen, goldsmith, engraved on March 17, 1877. Compared to silver, it has the advantage of being strong and corrosion-resistant, extremely hard and durable. Dimensions: 10 X 2 cm. As these are antique items, they may show signs of wear. Photographs are an integral part of the description and condition report.
