Vintage orange table lamp designed by Josef Hůrka for Napako, Czechoslovakia, circa 1960s. A characteristic example of postwar Czechoslovak lighting design, the lamp combines a vivid orange lacquered metal body with a slender sculptural chrome-plated support. Its bold color, functional construction and clean geometric silhouette reflect the Space Age and Mid-Century Modern aesthetic that shaped progressive European lighting during the 1960s. The large directional shade can be adjusted to position the light as required, making the piece suitable as a desk, reading, bedside or accent lamp. The curved chrome support creates a particularly elegant profile and provides a strong visual contrast with the saturated orange finish. Designed by Josef Hůrka, known for his innovative lighting designs for the Czechoslovak manufacturer Napako. The lamp has been carefully cleaned and repolished and fitted with new electrical wiring. It retains minor signs of use and age consistent with an authentic vintage piece, including small surface marks visible in the photographs.
