Ceramic dove flower frog, Le Potier Menton, 1960s. France. Workshop/boutique on the French Riviera, active mainly from the 1950s to the 1970s, in the tradition of regional ceramics from the South (Vallauris, Biot, etc.). Decorative handcrafted production intended for interiors and elegant tourism: birds, fish, vases, jugs, bowls. Distinguishing features: earthenware or stoneware clay, satin glazes (grey-green, blue, honey), incised/sgraffito decoration, and stylized forms. Frequent markings include a paper label “Le Potier Menton” or the word “Menton” (sometimes handwritten/underglaze).
