Large wall sun mask in polychrome glazed ceramic, created by Roland Zobel in his workshop Les Cyclades, in Générargues near Anduze (Gard). Frontal face in chamotte terracotta, surrounded by pierced rays in green-grey, ochre, orange, and white glazes. Spiral motifs incised into the rays. Original metal hook on the back. Hand-signed on the back: "Les Cyclades, Unique piece, 30 Anduze". Roland Zobel, trained at the Beaux-Arts in Bourges and then at the international school of ceramics in Faenza, settled in the Cévennes where he founded the workshop Les Cyclades. His sun masks, with a very free modernism, are sought after just like the ceramics from Vallauris. Condition: excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no restoration. Intact glazes, functional original hook.
