This extending dining table was manufactured by the British furniture maker G-Plan during the 1960s. The piece is an excellent example of Mid-Century Modern design, combining a simple, timeless form with high-quality craftsmanship. The table is crafted from teak wood. The round tabletop, with its gently rounded reinforced edge, is supported by four slender tapered legs. Its harmonious proportions and lightweight construction give the piece the elegance characteristic of British furniture design from the 1960s. The table features an extension mechanism and an additional centrally positioned extension leaf. When extended, the round tabletop transforms into a spacious oval dining surface measuring 168 cm in length. The table has undergone professional woodworking restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating, stained in an oak colour, and finished with a durable high-quality semi-matt lacquer, which protects the surface while enhancing the natural beauty of the teak grain.
