Superb vintage soliflore vase made of blown glass, manufactured in Italy in the early 1970s. Designed by the famous Italian designer Sergio Asti for the prestigious glassworks Arnolfo di Cambio (Colle di Val d’Elsa, Tuscany), this model is an icon of Space Age and Mid-Century design. Exceptional features: * Neodymium glass (Alexandrite): A true magical glass with a dichroic effect. It instantly changes colour depending on the light source. It appears a beautiful violet/lilac in daylight (natural or incandescent) and shifts to glacier blue/smoke blue under fluorescent light (neon or cool LED). * Controlled bubble: The heavy, flared base contains a single air bubble perfectly centred and trapped within the glass mass, an iconic visual signature of this collection. * Ideal dimensions: Height of 31 cm, the iconic size of this series, perfect on a Scandinavian sideboard or a modernist piece of furniture. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, no cracks, the neck is intact except for a micro chip (last photo) that is nearly invisible, and the glass has retained all its transparency (no limescale clouding). Dimensions: * Height: 31 cm. * Base diameter: approximately 7 cm. An ideal collector's piece for enthusiasts of Italian art glass (Murano style, Empoli) or unusual objects from the 70s. Very careful shipping.
