Black brutalist tree floor candle holder “tree of life”, 1970s. This striking brutalist floor candle holder, dating from the 1970s, is crafted from wrought iron and finished in black. Its sculptural form resembles a tree, with organically shaped branches rising from a sturdy central trunk. Often referred to as a “Tree of Life” candle holder, the design combines the raw character of brutalist metalwork with a surprisingly decorative and almost natural silhouette. The piece provides space for 12 tealight candles, positioned at different heights throughout the branches. When lit, the candles emphasize the irregular lines of the ironwork and create an atmospheric play of light and shadow. Even without candles, the piece works well as a decorative sculptural object.
