Very elegant and decorative lamp produced in france by the verceram company at the end of the 1950s. It consists of a ceramic structure supporting two opaline glass lampshades with brass supports. Very rare model 6850. Verceram's signature iridescent pearl enamel and petrol-like blue-black glaze make this a truly remarkable piece. The lamp is in perfect condition, no scratches, no shocks, original electricity checked and functional. Two bayonet bulbs not included. One of the glass lampshades is slightly chipped at the base with a rising crack (see photos) which is not visible once the glass is mounted. It is easy to change the glass globes (universal diameter) if desired. The lamp is rather long - 46cm. The photos are part of the description. Quick and neat delivery. Shipping europe and the world, contact me... Very little is known about verceram céramique. Verceram collectors and enthusiasts determined that the art pottery was likely based in montreuil, in the eastern suburbs of paris, and belonged to a certain monsieur caux. The workshop and factory were active from around the 1940s until 1971, during the decades of the “trente glorieuses”. What is very well known are the otherworldly pieces of art pottery that defined verceram's style in the 1960s. Featuring striking contrast and avant-garde abstract shapes in white iridescent metallic glazes pearly and an iridescent blue-black, these glazes were notoriously difficult to master. Glazes scratch easily, making it difficult to find enameled pieces in perfect condition today.
