Bright Red and Black Ceramic Vase, Heavy Jug in Mid-Century Style, West German Pottery

If you are looking for an eye catcher in your home or garden, this ceramic vase/jug is it. Its bright red color appeals to the imagination and is wonderfully balanced by a black mid-section. Made from red clay, this unusual vintage vase is likely made in germany, reminiscent of fat lava and other west & east german art pottery. In good vintage condition, in some places the black glaze has come off, revealing the red clay beneath it. No maker's mark on the bottom, apart from two stripes in the clay. Surprisingly heavy for its size: slightly over 1.4 kg.
