8 porcelain plates from Limoges, Martial Redon / Art Nouveau

Set of 8 Limoges porcelain plates, Martial Redon factory, late 19th century Set of 8 Limoges porcelain plates with painted decoration, signed Redon (Martial Redon factory, active in Limoges from 1882 to 1896 under this name). Decoration: cream white background, with polychrome painted decoration of flowering branches (pink and yellow apple or cherry blossoms, gilded foliage) and more discreet plant motifs (ferns, scattered flowering stems). The style and palette recall the Art Nouveau production of the factory, featuring alternating "Japanese" floral motifs and broadly gilded borders. Border: scalloped edge (fluted rim), highlighted by a wide gilded band. Period: late 19th – early 20th century.
