Elegant window bench in carved walnut, made at the end of the 19th century, in the Henri II style characteristic of the Napoléon III period. Inspired by French Renaissance furniture, it captivates with the richness of its decor and the balance of its proportions. The two side backs are adorned with moulded panels pierced by an oval openwork medallion, delicately surrounded by a crown of sculpted flowers. The turned baluster legs, fine columns, the scalloped apron, and the small floral motifs carved on the feet create a set of great finesse, where every detail reflects remarkable craftsmanship. The seat has been completely reupholstered in a boucle fabric from the Chivasso editor, in an ecru tone subtly highlighted with a blue trim. It rests on a wooden support and features high-density foam, providing a firm, comfortable, and durable seat. The contrast between the warm patina of the walnut and the contemporary texture of the fabric highlights the timeless character of this piece. With its compact dimensions (70 × 40 × 78 cm, seat height 42 cm), this bench naturally finds its place in front of a window, in an entrance, a dressing room, or at the foot of a bed. A character piece that fits well in both a classic interior and a contemporary Parisian apartment. In very good condition. Recent reupholstery carried out with quality materials.
