Coffee table "Rocchetto" - A&PG Castiglioni - Kartell - 1960s/70s

Authentic "Rocchetto" coffee table / side table by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, published by Interstore (UK) for Kartell. Diameter: 60 cm, Height: 38 cm. Colour: ivory / cream - Identification and origin markings present. Furniture made of injection-moulded ABS, glossy finish, monobloc in two assembled elements (top and base). At the time, ABS was an innovative material allowing for generous shapes impossible to achieve in wood or metal. Very good overall condition, sound structure, with some normal signs of wear relative to its age. A slight halo of about 15 cm is present on the top of the table (visible depending on the light, with no structural impact) and a 1 cm mark on the base of the leg. A true piece of Italian modernist design from the 60s/70s, recognisable by its iconic sculptural silhouette in the shape of a spool (Rocchetto in Italian). A sought-after piece as a coffee table, side table, or end table for enthusiasts of Italian modernist design.
