Small sculptural vase in ceramic created by Alistair Danhieux, a contemporary ceramicist based in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, Nièvre. A piece with clean lines and an architectural silhouette, characterised by an elongated shape resting on three feet, joined by an elegant arched opening. The white surface, soft and matte, is highlighted by a dark brown graphic decoration, painted freehand. The pattern, composed of fine overlapping curved lines, follows the movement of the shape and contrasts with the overall simplicity. Alistair Danhieux (born in 1975) is a British-born ceramicist. After numerous travels in Europe, India, and West Africa, he settled in Puisaye in 2003 and trained in ceramics at the CNIFOP in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye. His work gradually evolved towards sculptural pieces with clean forms, combining the search for volumes and freehand painted graphic decorations. His creations have notably been presented at the Galerie de l'Ancienne Poste and the Cité de la céramique in Sèvres. A small unique piece, at the boundary between decorative object and contemporary sculpture. Dimensions: Height: 12.2 cm. Diameter: 7.5 cm. Condition: perfect condition. Origin: Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, Nièvre, France. Period: contemporary.
