Large danish mid-century baca vase by johanne gerber for royal copenhagen the decor of this vase was designed by johanne gerber for royal copenhagen. It features a beautiful pattern of flowers and branches in blue and black. The vase is in very good condition. The bottom has the factory markings printed on the base, including royal copenhagen/denmark/fajance on the figure of the artist johanne gerber.johanne was part of a group of designers and artists under the direction of nils thorsson.this group included berte jessen, marianne johnson, ellen malmer, kari christensen, beth breyen and grete helland-hansen, johanne(s) gerber, anne marie trolle and ivan weiss. Most of the shapes were designed by nils thorsson, but ellen malmer also designed around 14 of the shapes.a glazing technique was developed by nils so that each piece was slightly different, giving them an artisanal, hand-painted look due to the nature of the enamel.each's designs artists/pattern designers are very different.
